In the past few years, we have all seen a big change in the way some real estate agents and brokerages advertise. "Commission cutting" or "cash back" has become the focus of how many new and some existing agents and companies choose to promote themselves. The fact of the matter is, real estate commissions have always been negotiable. Any claim of there being a set rate or standard rate is considered "price fixing" and a violation of anti-trust laws established to protect the consumer and promote fair competition.

At Makinghomeowners, we believe that the business relationship between an agent and client is, and should be kept, confidential. Is it really the business of the potential buyers of your home what you are paying in commission percentage to sell, or what kind of incentives you may be receiving to purchase your home?
