Tax Forms and Answers to Questions

The Internal Revenue Service has established several quick and easy ways for you to obtain forms and answer questions. Of course, forms, instructions and publications are still at the location's they have always been: post offices, libraries, and Internal Revenue Service offices.
Fax Forms: Forms requested by fax are no longer available. Users must now download forms from the web site's Forms and Publications page.
Web Sites: You can visit the Interanl Revenue Service's web site at www.irs.ustreas.gov for forms and instructions, publications, and answers to frequently asked questions.
Phone: You can also order forms, instructions and publications by phone by calling 1-800-TAX-FORM (1-800-829-3676) between 7:30 and 5:30 on weekdays.
Tax Answers: There is a toll-free tax assistance line for individual tax questions and also for business tax questions. Call 1-800-829-1040 to obtain answers regarding individual taxes and 1-800-829-4933 to obtain answers regarding business taxes.
CDROM: If your local library has federal tax forms on CDROM, you can print out the items you need. You can place you order at 1-877-233-6767 or fax your order to 703-605-6900. Be sure to inquire about the cost of the CD.
Electronic Filing: Most tax returns can now be filed electronically. Obtain information by accesing the IRS's Internet Site, and then click on "online options" (e-file)
